Business Plan Development
Oldbury Court Youth Centre contacted IFC at a point when they were at risk of being closed down due to Bristol City Council funding cuts and local government plans to develop new Children’s Centres in the area.
Oldbury Court sought the services of IFC to develop a comprehensive business plan and proposal to secure support from the Council for the continuation of the services, which included providing low cost child care, after school clubs and breakfast clubs, including wrap around care, to low income families, as well as additional support for ongoing maintenance and support from the Council.
As a result of the Plan’s submission to the Council, the organisation was able to continue. As Sheila Phillips, Centre Manager, states:
“The business plan meant that the Council recognised the value of service that Oldbury Court provides to local people living on low income and rather than making the decision to close the service down, invited the organisation to continue delivering its services within the area’s new Children’s Centre.”
