The IFC started with a quick audit of the organisation, looking at its potential, current practices and management. We soon realised a full audit was required and recommended a great accountancy firm to go through the books, and make professional recommendations for good practice to bring the procedures up to date.
Similarly we looked at the management and governance procedures and drafted a series of policies for the Board. Due to falling client numbers a retrenchment was recommended and their extensive central London premises were sold.
A period of restricted working gave the organisation time to regroup and, working closely with the trustees, we developed a new groundbreaking concept , entitled “The Village Well”. This was launched at a strawberry tea on the Terrace at the House of Lords.
