Nicolas is a qualified Chartered Accountant having worked in the IT and travel sectors. He moved into the charity sector and was the first paid Director of the homeless charity Centrepoint for 12 years. After a spell as Deputy Director at the Mental Health Foundation, he then established and directed ChildHope, an international charity working for street children until 2000.
He has been a fulltime consultant for the past 8 years and although considered to be a generalist he has used his particular experience and expertise in successfully helping clients to create and implement funding strategies securing money from trusts and foundations, private donors and statutory sources including Lottery and European grants.
He also provides consultancy support for governance matters (accounting, financial and trustee management) and has mentored a number of Chief Executives and their Trustee Boards. He is an assessor for a leading grant maker and works across a range of client groups that include household name charities, charities needing to develop their capacity as well as more local single cause groups.
