In his 25 years as fundraiser, Director and consultant, John Baguley has taken charities of all sizes to new heights - and earned an international reputation for excellence in the process.
John is an experienced and accomplished management and fundraising consultant, director, speaker and trainer with an entrepreneurial flair. He offers a unique combination of practical and theoretical experience in the voluntary and private sectors having specialised in fundraising and the international development of non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Specialisms include governance, management, capital appeals, major donor development, trading and international fundraising. He founded the International Fundraising Consultancy (www.ifc.tc) in 2000. He is a trustee of the Institute of Fundraising and Chair of its Consultants Group.
Well known for galvanising Amnesty International and Friends of the Earth in the 80s and early 90s, he also worked for Oxfam managing their Central London shops, Voluntary & Christian Service, The Soil Association (as Director) and The Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture where he completed a £5m capital appeal for a new rehabilitation centre.
John has undertaken consultancy and lectured around the globe. 'Successful Fundraising', his guide for fundraisers of all disciplines, is now in its second edition and is also available in Russian.
In partnership with the Kiev Centre for Philanthropy the IFC has created the CIS International Fundraising Workshop held annually in Ukraine. John is also the co-founder with Svitlana Kuts of the Institute of Fundraising Ukraine and its Chairman.
